Commissions and Custom Orders
I would be happy to create exclusive pieces for you. Commissioned work is time consuming and may take several weeks to complete. It will involve several conversations to make sure I've got everything covered...size, colour, design, etc. We also will agree on a reasonable timeline and price for the project. I'll require a deposit of 50% of the total price of the finished order.
One example of a Commission: 
The style of this chandelier is Edwardian and it’s a Rise and Fall design. I was commissioned to create a new shade for this antique brass fixture. It's a family treasure but the original fringe was faded and in disrepair. The design is a sympathetic choice that honoured the original piece.
The diameter is 18" (46cm). It took 600m of cord which I worked into a variety of 2,576 knots.
I made three prototypes with different thicknesses of cord to determine the best option. Then I had to work out a pattern that would be spaced evenly around the brass fixture.
An example of a Custom Order:
I was asked if I could create a hanging basket from this wooden piece. I needed to figure out how to enhance the piece without overwhelming the basket itself.
I used natural coloured rope using a complementary knot and wooden beads that blended with the basket. The customer was quite pleased with the finished project.
